A journey to watch and hopefully photograph the many red kites that are now found in Buckinghamshire turned up an unexpected siting!
Driving through North Hampshire this South American Rhea was certainly unexpected.Happily chomping away in a farmers field left fallow for the winter. Not sure where it had escaped from.Only looking up when the Chinooks from RAF Odiham (thats the air base’s boundary fence behind) flew overhead.Consequently delayed getting to watch the Red KitesWhose numbers seemingly continue to grow just north of High Wycombe. On an otherwise drab day their russet feathers were the only colour on show.
