The greatest part of wildlife photography is not the photography but the observing, hopefully at close quarters, the wild animals and birds enjoying their natural environment. It can be gruesome as the image of the buzzard making a meal of an oyster catcher shows but always captivating and absorbing.
Unless clearly domesticated animals all of Alligin Photography's depiction of animals are genuine wild animals that have had limited exposure to humans. As such they are often very wary and skittish. Along with patience, an understanding of the respective animal helps to ensure that they are not disturbed by the intrusion of cameras and / or photographers.
The frogs at the bottom of the page were photographed in captivity and not the wild.
