A long journey South to North with Sally Traffic announcing the typical litany of road congestion – “M3 junctions 2 to 4, M6 junctions 12 – 19, M62 closed between 5 & 6” etc etc. Fortunately that was all behind but after Rannoch Moor I had a hold up of my own.
The snow on the hills had brought these youngsters down to the road to forage and graze.
A little patience and careful approach can be rewarded with some intimate close ups. On this image you can see my reflection in the eye but the attraction of the moss at the side of the burn is too much. The water the deer was stood in was icy cold as I found to my cost with a stumble later on whilst getting a few more images.
