Celtman Extreme Triathlon – Lives Up to Its Name

Congratulations must go to all of the competitors that completed the 2013  CXTri in the most testing of conditions yesterday. It was a privilege to be there as an observer as you pushed yourselves to the outer limits of endurance.  Hopefully the images that I have today posted will bring some memories of your excellent achievements.

Swim - Loch Shieldaig. Wind and tide waits for no won. Heavy chop made breathing without taking in mouthfuls of salt water very hard.

A circular course but was the wind ever behinds you. The long stretch towards Achnasheen was in to the by now strong and gusting wind. As one competitor said "I was even having to pedal down hill to go forward!"

Only 11 atheletes were allowed on Beinn Eighe but the route behind Liatach was lower but not easy. Heavy under foot, strong winds and driving rain ensured that there was sting in the tail after a very long day.
