Celtman Dirk Zangen wins and breaks two Celtman Records

Tenth behind Graham Stewart in 2013, Dirk Zangen knocked the best part of 2 hours 20 minutes of his previous best to win the 2015 Celtman xTri in a time of 11 hours 51 minutes 14 seconds.  In so doing he set a new best time for the cycle section and became the male veterans Celtman xTri record holder.

Despite the headwind in the latter stages of the course Zangen maintained good form through out the 202km cycle.

He set a course record of 5 hours 54 mins 59 seconds becoming only the third Celtman to break the six hour barrier and bettering 2014 Celtman winner, Johan Hasselamrk’s previous record by just over 2 minutes

Under pressure from second place Celtman, Chirs Stirling, Dirk worked hard on the run section to maintain his lead and finished with just under an eighteen minute winning margin.
