The Rùm Cullin often disturb the air flow as the weather heads towards the Point of Sleat from the West.  Both on tranquil and stormy days it can lead to some wonderful patterns of light.  During the day these are normally highlighted on the waters of the Sound of Sleat but in the morning and evening it is often the pattern of the clouds themselves that catch the eye in the ever changing colours of the sky.  The air rising and cooling over the mountains of Rùm create their own cap of cloud.  It is this lower cloud devoid of colour that provides the contrast to the higher level stratus cloud reflecting the last of the evening sun.
