Herons are now very common around the length and breadth of the country. Famed for standing motionless for long periods fishing those away from urban areas remain very wary of people getting too close. The loch shores in and around the Isle of Skye provide an excellent and abundant food supply as well as long periods of under disturbed fishing.

The photographs on this site are all relatively low resolution JPEGs. All my photographs are printed from the high resolution source file held in TIFF format, using an Epson printer at 2880dpi. I use Epson Premium Lustre paper and Epson Ultrachrome K3 inks to ensure that your picture(s) will have a long life of up to 75 years.
