This page is being reconstructed to show results from 5th and 6th Celtman competitions.

This page is dedicated to those who have won Celtman or have recorded a fastest time on an individual component of the Celtman Extreme Triathlon.  I have tried to be as accurate as possible but if you believe there is an error then please get in touch and I will correct the page.  I also wish to acknowledge that conditions play a huge part in such an event and accept that the course has subtly changed over time.  From a record point of view the change made in 2014 is significant.  For those on the high course the course was taken along the Loch Torridon foreshore so that both courses finished by entering to the West of Torridon village and running to the Community Centre. In 2017 high winds prevented any runners from competing on the high course and as a consequence a new fattest time for a winning athlete was recorded.

Updated to include the 6th Edition of the CELTMAN! Extreme Triathlon

Fastest Swim (Women) – Kathrin Muller – 49:56 [ 2013 Celtman]  Her title came under pressure from 2015 Celtman Women’s winner Siobhan Prise who recorded the second fastest women’s swim time of 50:03

Bobby Oag is the only Celtman to have broken 40 minutes for the swim.  23 further Celtmen have broken 50 minutes, 14 in 2012, 2 in 2013, 1 in 2014 and 5 in 2015.  This gives some idea in the different conditions.  2013 women’s winner, Katherin Muller, is the only women to have broken 50 minutes.

Hall of Fame – Special Celtman

Anyone who completes Celtman has my admiration but when I look the through the results there are a few who stand out.

Sean Mc
Sean McFarlane – 2nd in the inaugural Celtman of 2012 followed by 8th (2013), 14th (2014) and 5th (2015) – that is some achievement and one of only three (I think) to have completed all four Celtman races.

Stuart Macleod - 3rd 2013, 4th 2012
Stuart Macleod finished in the top ten of the three Celtman he competed in- 3rd 2014, 3rd 2013, 4th 2012
2014 - Jeff Glasbrenner becomes the first amputee to complete Celtman

Number of Finishers

The coveted blue Celtman t-shirt is awarded to all those who finish having completed the high course which takes in two munro peaks on Beinn Eighe.  Those that complete the low course are awarded a white t-shirt.  From 2013 the cut off time for the high course has been to reach T2a within 11 hours of the start.  Those competitors that arrive at T2a after 11 hours but before 13 hours have elapsed can proceed to the low level course.  Any athlete arriving at T2a after 13 hours competition time is timed out from the competition.

Notes

2:  Due to adverse weather the high course was closed after the first 11 runners passed T2a.  10 men completed the high course whilst the leading women Kathrim Muller, who was last to go up Beinn Eighe, completed part of the high course.  37 others reached T2a in the high course time limit and were awarded Blue shirts.

1: In the inaugural Celtman the time limit to reach T2a was an hour longer than the subsequent running of the event.
