Diamonds on Loch Garry

Glenn Garry
Morning sun back lights the trees around and on Loch Garry that are still covered with tiny drops of water left by the earlier mist in the Glen.  If you look at the trees in to the sun they sparkle as if covered by diamonds and almost look frost covered.  It remains one of natures great sights.

Unfortunately I only had a tiny opportunity to grab the image which was taken with a 300mm lens, hence the foreshortening.  The water droplets on the left are on the birch tree at the loch side that I had to shoot through as there wasn’t time to scramble down to get under their over hanging branches.  Click on the images to see a slightly larger version.

Taken when I first came over the bealach to enter the glen. The image was taken stood in snow but lower down the spring sun has enough warmth to lift the inversion that had obviously earlier been settled over the loch and glen.
